Have you heard there are some awesome things happening at the Animal Kingdom this year? When I got invited to the Disney Social Media Mom Celebration I was beyond grateful. What I wasn’t prepared for was the amount of information that would be coming my way. As I weed through all my notes, I am amazed at tall the yummy things coming and that are happening now.
Happenings at The Animal Kingdom
I am pretty sure the biggest news of all is the opening of Pandora in May. Yes, that’s right on May 27, 2017, you will be able to enter the world of Pandora. From a family friendly Na’vi River Journey that will send guests through a bioluminescent rainforest. The journey will end with an unforgettable encounter with a Na’vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora. There will also be an Avatar Flight of Passage which will offer guests the jaw-dropping experience of exploring the world of Pandora atop a Banshee. There are other wonderful surprises as well. To say this new world will be mind-blowing is putting it mildly.
there is also the new River of Lights show that opened February 17. 2017. We were treated to an early viewing of this show and I can tell you it is breathtaking. The lights and music are just stunning. It left me with goosebumps and feeling so inspired. What a beautiful show it combines live music with floating lights and a musical score that just is beyond anything I’ve heard. It is a must see when at the Animal Kingdom.
Finally, there was the filming of the View from Disney animal Kingdom last week. I was a wee bit excited to get an invite to sit int he audience. I have always found live tv fascinating and to get to see the work the when in behind the scenes while filming was extraordinary. Okay and yes getting to stand next to Whoopi Goldberg was a huge honor. I mean it’s Whoopi who wouldn’t want to get a chance to say HI to her. It was a moment to remember.
Have you seen the Rivers of Light yet? Are you planning a trip to the Animal Kingdom soon to see all the new things there?
Disclaimer: I received free media passes for the viewing of The View and I paid a discounted rate to attend the Disney Social Media Mom celebration. Neither required me to write about Disney but as I love Disney I had to share. All opinions are 100% my own.
