Macaulay Culkin
Growing up, Macaulay Culkin was known for his role as Kevin McCallister in the family Christmas movies Home Alone and Home Alone 2. Culkin was lauded for his performance, and the movies were huge hits. Culkin was an absolute star in his youth, even hosting Saturday Night Live at the young age of eleven. Unfortunately, things went downhill pretty rapidly for Culkin after his breakthrough. The actor stepped away from the spotlight for a considerable amount of time and was arrested for drug possession in the early 2000s, which may have come as quite a surprise to some people. The two launched their careers on the hit sitcom Full House and used it as a springboard for stardom. The two starred in a wide range of movies together, forming a powerful tandem with a lot of star power. Both did well for themselves over the years, becoming icons among preteens and teenagers with their content. Unlike many other child stars, the two managed to stay out of trouble and controversies, something that has greatly helped their brand. Today, the two have transferred their stardom from the entertainment industry into the fashion world, becoming successful fashion designers with their own clothing line.
Dylan and Cole Sprouse
The Olsen twins weren’t the only star pair of twins to get an early start. The Sprouse twins have a long history of starring in roles as children, appearing in Big Daddy and the hit T.V show Friends. The two really broke into the public eye with their own Disney Channel T.V show, the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The show received a lot of views and positive ratings, so a spinoff starring the twins called Suite Life on Deck was ordered. After completion of their Disney shows, the two largely faded from public life and began focusing on other interests and schools. However, Cole Sprouse has recently emerged back into the public eye after starring as Jughead in Riverdale, while Dylan Sprouse has largely remained outside of the public eye.
Lindsey LohanAnother famous Disney child star is Lindsey Lohan. Lohan had several roles as a child actress, eventually leading up to her starring as the main character in The Parent Trap remake. As she grew up, Lohan became even more popular. She starred in the hit comedy Mean Girls and had a slew of other roles that earned her fame. Like Macaulay Culkin, Lohan is one of the youngest people to ever host SNL, doing so at the age of 17. However, her career took a downward spiral after a series of arrests and an inability to stay sober. Today, Lohan is still present in the industry, although she isn’t nearly the force that she used to be.
